HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Clara Chapman of Springfield, formerly of Carlyle, who passed away on November 10, 2008; and

WHEREAS, She was born July 16, 1900, in Little York to Hattie and John Turner; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Nadine McClain; and her son, Nathaniel Killion; and

WHEREAS, She is survived by two daughters, Loretta Killion and Aletha Nash; her granddaughter, Claudette Moore; her grandson, Derek (wife, Rosemary) Nash; her brother, Haywood Turner; her four sisters, Helen Lee Franklin, Opal Devoe, Mary Chapman, and Hannah Johnson; her five great-grand-children; her five great-great-grandchildren; several great nieces; a host of great-great-nieces and nephews; and a host of friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Clara Chapman; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Clara Chapman as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
