HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of JoAnn
4 Romeo of Blairsville, who passed away on September 3, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, JoAnn Romeo was born on September 26, 1934 in
6 Herrin; her parents were Spence and Bess (Long) Yates; she
7 married Bill Romeo on September 26, 1954 in Du Quoin; and
 
8     WHEREAS, JoAnn Romeo was the secretary and treasurer of
9 Blairsville Water District for more than 27 years; she also,
10 along with her husband, owned and operated the Twinkle Tree
11 Farm and the Spot of Art Frame Shop, both located in
12 Blairsville; and
 
13     WHEREAS, JoAnn Romeo was a member of the Herrin Christian
14 Church; she was also a former member of the Franklin-Williamson
15 County Board of Education and a former member of the Fraternal
16 Order of the Eastern Star in Hurst; and
 
17     WHEREAS, JoAnn Romeo enjoyed painting and spending time
18 with her family; and
 
19     WHEREAS, JoAnn Romeo was preceded in death by her parents;
20 her son, William Fredrick Romeo; her sisters, Helen Latcher,

1 Doris Jean Fuller, June Springhart, and Sue Poffenburger; and
2 her brother, Paul Yates; and
 
3     WHEREAS, JoAnn Romeo is survived by her husband, Bill
4 Romeo; her son and daughter-in-law, B.J. and Christy Romeo; her
5 grandsons, Billy and Joseph Romeo; her sister, Ruth Giffin; her
6 special friends, Sharon and Larry Walker; and her several
7 nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10 mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of JoAnn
11 Romeo; and be it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to the family of JoAnn Romeo as an expression of our
14 sympathy.
