HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Centralia Orphans Golf Team on a great season; and

WHEREAS, The team set tournament records in three different tournaments this year; they won six out of the nine tournaments they played in; they set a school record for a nine-hole match with 133; and they won the South 7 Conference for the fifth straight year; and

WHEREAS, In addition, the Orphans won the Illinois High School Association regionals for the third straight year; the medalist for each regional was from the Orphans team; they won the Illinois High School Association sectional in addition to an Orphan being the medalist; and they placed second in the Illinois High School Association State tournament; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Miller and Michael Fowler were both named All-State players; and

WHEREAS, The Orphans ended the season with an impressive record of fifteen wins and zero losses; and

WHEREAS, The Coach of the Orphans is John Sallee; the Assistant Coach is Jeff Skillette; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Centralia Orphans Golf Team are Bobby Cook, Trevor DeVore, Kenny Evischi, Michael Fowler, Anthony Harting, Derrick Holmes, Jeffrey Miller, and Will Miller; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Centralia Orphans Golf Team and wish them continued success in their future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Coach John Sallee and the Centralia Orphans Golf Team as a symbol of our respect.
