HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Vito Bertucci on his 100th birthday; and

WHEREAS, His parents came from Italy to the United States to raise a family, where Vito was born in Chicago in 1908; and

WHEREAS, He began working at the age of 14, holding many jobs before settling into a career in the newspaper business; he worked for the Chicago Sun-Times, the American Paper (later the Tribune) and the Cuneo Press, where he retired at the age of 65; and

WHEREAS, Vito and his wife, Marie, were married for 56 years until her passing in 1989; together they raised Bruno, who passed away in 1991, and Richard, who Vito resides with today; and

WHEREAS, Vito Bertucci is the proud grandfather of Jimmy, Gia, and Bonnie; and the doting great-grandfather of Christopher, Andrew, Jillian, Taylor, Benjamin, and Baylee Rose; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Vito Bertucci on the celebration of this milestone birthday and wish him all the best that life has to offer; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Vito Bertucci as a symbol of our sincere respect.
