HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to honor the life of Bruce Hohenstein of Mt. Auburn; and

WHEREAS, Bruce Hohenstein passed away on November 19, 2007 and is remembered with fondness by the people of Mt. Auburn; he was born on October 12, 1951 to Dale "Shorty" and Gloria Anne Smith Hohenstein; and

WHEREAS, He married Deborah G. Vincent on July 4, 1961 and they became the proud parents of Clint Bruce Hohenstein and Wyatt Dale Hohenstein; and

WHEREAS, He enjoyed golf, carpentry, red wine, political discussions, and helping others; and

WHEREAS, He served as the Mayor of Mt. Auburn from 1989 to 2001, and again from 2005 to 2007; he was a Village Trustee from 1973 to 1985, 1987 to 1989, and from 2001 to 2005; and he was Democratic Precinct Committeeman for Mt. Auburn Township from 1991 to 2007; and

WHEREAS, In addition, he served on the Christian County Zoning Board from 1993 to 2007 and held almost every office in the Mt. Auburn Lions Club; on the Lions Club district level he served as Zone Chairman and Deputy District Governor, and on the State level he was District 1-L Governor in 1982 and 1983; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we honor the life of Bruce Hohenstein and his dedication to the Village of Mt. Auburn; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bruce Hohenstein as a symbol of our sincere respect.
