HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Robert E. McClellan, Jr. on the occasion of his retirement from Hortica Insurance & Employee Benefits in Edwardsville after 21 years of dedicated service; and

WHEREAS, Robert E. McClellan, Jr. earned his bachelor's degrees in math and business in 1974 and his master's degree in information systems in 1976; and

WHEREAS, Robert E. McClellan, Jr. was employed with Automation Facilitators, Inc. in Edwardsville from 1981 until 1987; he also served as an adjunct faculty member at Southern Illinois University and Webster University during that time; and

WHEREAS, Robert E. McClellan, Jr. has had a long and distinguished career with Hortica Insurance & Employee Benefits; he formerly held the positions of President, Chief Executive Officer, Vice President/MIS, and Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer; at the time of his retirement, he served the company as Special Advisor to the President & CEO; and

WHEREAS, Robert E. McClellan, Jr. has been an active member of his community; he served as co-chair of the Missouri Botanical Gardens - Gardens of SIUE Steering Committee; he has been a member of the Great Rivers Research Project Advisory Team, the SIUE School of Engineering Advisory Group, the Lewis & Clark Community College Foundation, the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Foundation, the Executive Council of the Alliance of Edwardsville & Glen Carbon, the I-55 Corridor Study Project Management Team, and the Mid-America Airport Cargo Steering Committee; and

WHEREAS, Robert E. McClellan, Jr.'s dedication to his profession and his willingness to serve his community make him a model for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Robert E. McClellan, Jr. on the occasion of his retirement and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Robert E. McClellan, Jr. as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
