HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the
4 Benton High School girls track team on the occasion of winning
5 the Illinois High School Association Class A Girls Track &
6 Field 2008 State Championship on May 17, 2008; and
 
7     WHEREAS, The Benton High School girls track team captured
8 the Illinois High School Association Class A Girls Track &
9 Field 2008 State Championship in Charleston with a total score
10 of 54, clinching their second tournament victory in 3 years;
11 and
 
12     WHEREAS, During the tournament, Benton High School senior
13 Leah Orley placed first in the triple jump, 110-meter high
14 hurdles and 300 intermediate hurdles events; and
 
15     WHEREAS, The members of the Benton High School girls track
16 team are Carly Cripps, Leah Orley, Victoria Price, Anna Smith,
17 Courtney Smith, Gracey Bailey, Chelsea Hayden, Madaline
18 Parrish, Kessa Roberts, Ashley Webb, Sammi Bybee, Sara Miles,
19 Katie Pemberton, Sydney Potts, and Natalie Taylor; the team's
20 head coach is Andy Sloan and the assistant coaches are Justin
21 Groves and Bob Sloan; the team's managers are Shane Fitzpatrick
22 and Shawn Ancona; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
3 congratulate the members of the Benton High School girls track
4 team on the occasion of winning the Illinois High School
5 Association Class A Girls Track & Field 2008 State Championship
6 and wish them continued success and happiness in the future;
7 and be it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to Benton High School head coach Andy Sloan as a
10 symbol of our esteem and respect.
