HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Father Edwin
4 Pacocha on the occasion of his retirement from St. Cornelius
5 Parish after 22 years of dedicated service; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Father Edwin Pacocha was born on February 16, 1936
7 in Chicago to Walter and Berniece; he was baptized at St.
8 Helen's and received Holy Communion at St. John Berchman; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Father Edwin Pacocha attended grade school at St.
10 John Berchman and attended high school at Quigley; he attended
11 seminary for 7 years at St. Mary of the Lake in Mundelein
12 before becoming ordained as a priest on April 28, 1962; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Father Edwin Pacocha has had a long and
14 distinguished tenure in the clergy; he served as an Associate
15 at St. Priscilla from July of 1962 until June of 1967, when he
16 became an Associate at St. Mary of Czestochowa in Cicero,
17 serving there until June of 1969; he went on to serve as an
18 Associate at St. Mary in Buffalo Grove from June of 1969 until
19 June of 1976, when he relocated to St. John Baptist Vianny in
20 Northlake, serving there until June of 1982; after his tenure
21 at St. John, he became an Associate at St. Paul of the Cross in
22 Park Ridge, serving there until January of 1986; and

1     WHEREAS, In January of 1986, Father Edwin Pacocha was
2 installed as the fifth Pastor of St. Cornelius Parish, where he
3 remained until his retirement; as Pastor, he has dedicated 22
4 years to the support, spiritual care, and nurturing of the St.
5 Cornelius Parish and School communities; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Father Edwin Pacocha enjoys doing mechanical
7 work, particularly on cars, as well as fishing and gardening;
8 and
 
9     WHEREAS, Father Edwin Pacocha serves as a model of hard
10 work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of
11 Illinois; therefore, be it
 
12     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
13 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
14 congratulate Father Edwin Pacocha on the occasion of his
15 retirement and wish him continued success and happiness in the
16 future; and be it further
 
17     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18 presented to Father Edwin Pacocha as a symbol of our esteem and
19 respect.
