HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Carol Kuyper, third grade teacher at Emerson School in Elmhurst, on her retirement after 40 years of teaching, with the last 26 years teaching at Emerson School in Elmhurst; and

WHEREAS, Carol was born on April 15, 1945 and has been a part of the community since the third grade; she attended Roosevelt School, Sandburg Junior High School, York High School, and Elmhurst College; and

WHEREAS, She and her husband, Ted, have been married for 41 years; they have one son, Ted; and

WHEREAS, She has many fond memories, including a writing teacher that would begin the lessons with singing "It's writing time today!"; she also has fun stories about "dumb bunny" and what a "poop deck" is on the Titanic; and her kids always wanted to know her age, guessing from 16 to 160 years of age; and

WHEREAS, She is a frequent flyer on stage with the Fairy Tale Follies; and

WHEREAS, She has claimed a great experience as a teacher, working with supportive parents and a wonderful staff and wonderful students; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Carol Kuyper on her retirement and wish her the best in her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Carol Kuyper as a symbol of our respect.
