HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Michelle Knapp on
4 the occasion of her 25th anniversary of service with the
5 Together Program at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Michelle Knapp is a resident of Edgewater; she
7 attended Hayt Elementary School and Senn Nicholas High School
8 and raised two sons, Chris and Adam in the neighborhood
9 together with her husband Gary; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Michelle Knapp is a registered nurse who has been
11 caring for others for more than 30 years; she currently divides
12 her time as a Parish Nurse between Immanuel Evangelical
13 Lutheran Church and Ebenezar Lutheran Church; as a Parish
14 Nurse, she performs the roles of health educator, personal
15 health counselor, referral source, facilitator of small
16 groups, and integrator of faith and health; she also performs
17 visits to the church's members at church, at home, in the
18 hospital, and at other health care facilities; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Michelle Knapp is the founder of the Together
20 Program at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church; the Together
21 Program consists of three separate playgroups for both children
22 ages 0-5 and their parents or caregivers; these weekly

1 playgroups provide a fun safe place for children to play,
2 socialize, and make friends in the community; she teaches two
3 of five sessions weekly and has been singing songs, telling
4 stories, making art projects, and reaching out to families in
5 The Together Program for 25 years; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Michelle Knapp will celebrate her 25th
7 anniversary with The Together Program at a celebration in her
8 honor on May 24, 2008 from 10 AM to 12 PM at Immanuel
9 Evangelical Lutheran Church's Olin Center; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Through her work as a Parish Nurse and as founder
11 of The Together Program, Michelle Knapp has touched many lives
12 throughout Edgewater, Andersonville, and Rogers Park and has
13 shown a deep commitment to the families in her community;
14 therefore, be it
 
15     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
16 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
17 congratulate Michelle Knapp on the occasion of her 25th
18 anniversary of service with the Together Program and wish her
19 continued success and happiness in the future; and be it
20 further
 
21     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22 presented to Michelle Knapp as a symbol of our esteem and
