HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to recognize Sherry Meadows and her hard work and efforts to have November declared "Alzheimer's Awareness Month"; and

WHEREAS, Sherry Meadows late husband, John, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 1997, and she immediately joined the Alzheimer's Association, St. Louis Chapter; and

WHEREAS, She was recently recognized by the Alzheimer's Association as one of 12 Volunteers of the Year for her dedication and loyalty to the St. Louis Chapter; and

WHEREAS, She originally joined the Association for a support system and to learn about the disease in an effort to treat her husband at home; and

WHEREAS, She currently serves as the senior advocate for Jefferson County; and

WHEREAS, Through her hard work, she was instrumental in getting Patty Blagojevich, wife of Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, to declare November "Alzheimer's Awareness Month"; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize Sherry Meadows and her dedication to the Alzheimer's Association and helping other people work through this devastating disease; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Sherry Meadows as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
