HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dr. James White on
4 the occasion of his retirement as Superintendent of Queen Bee
5 District 16 on June 30, 2008; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Dr. James White received his doctorate in
7 education in August of 1993; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Dr. James White has had a long and distinguished
9 career in education; he began his career in 1968 as a 6th grade
10 teacher at Americana Intermediate School; in 1969, he went on
11 to be a social studies/science teacher at Glenside Junior High
12 School; in 1971, he became Assistant Principal at Glenside; he
13 then became the school's Principal in 1973; and
 
14     WHEREAS, In 1981, Dr. James White became Assistant
15 Superintendent of Business/Finance at Queen Bee District 16,
16 remaining in that position until July of 1985, when he became
17 Associate Superintendent of Curriculum/Instruction of the
18 district; in December of 1985, he became Superintendent of
19 Queen Bee District 16; from 1993 until 1994, he concurrently
20 served as Superintendent and Principal of Glen Hill School; in
21 1994, he ceased his service as Principal of Glen Hill and
22 continued serving as Superintendent, where he remained until

1 his retirement; and
 
2     WHEREAS, Dr. James White and his wife of over 30 years,
3 Carol, have three children, Jim, Becky, and Dennis, and five
4 grandchildren; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Dr. James White serves as a model of hard work,
6 integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of
7 Illinois; therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10 congratulate Dr. James White on the occasion of his retirement
11 and wish him many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it
12 further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to Dr. James White as a symbol of our esteem and
15 respect.
