HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Ken Armstrong O'Brien of Joliet, formerly of Frankfort, who passed away on March 2, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Ken O'Brien was a reporter for the Joliet Herald News, joining the staff in July of 2006; he had formerly been a reporter for the Chicago Tribune; and

WHEREAS, He was an Eagle Scout in Boy Scout Troop 270; and

WHEREAS, He had previously been a freelance writer for area newspapers for over 20 years; and

WHEREAS, His education beat included area high schools, colleges, and grade schools; he also supervised the "Pulse" column of local political gossip; and

WHEREAS, Ken Armstrong O'Brien was the beloved son of Jim and Carol O'Brien, nee Armstrong; the dearest brother of Karyn (Tobias) Campolattara and Larry (Kristin); and the loving uncle of Matt, Abbey, Katie, and Katelyn; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Ken Armstrong O'Brien; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ken Armstrong O'Brien as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
