HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the Cissna Park 7th Grade Wildcat Basketball Team on the occasion of winning the 2008 7-1A State Basketball Championship; and

WHEREAS, The Cissna Park 7th Grade Wildcat Basketball Team defeated Marseilles Milton Pope 33-22 to win the 2008 7-1A State Basketball Championship on February 7, 2008; their victory gives the team its first State title since 1935; and

WHEREAS, The young men of the Cissna Park 7th Grade Wildcat Basketball Team finished their outstanding season with a 26-2 record; and

WHEREAS, Cissna Park 7th Grade Wildcat Basketball Team player Alex Rabe led the team in scoring with 16 points during the championship game, followed by Cole Hasselbring with 10 points and Beau Anderson with 7 points; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Cissna Park 7th Grade Wildcat Basketball Team are Alex Rabe, Cole Hasselbring, Beau Anderson, Trevor Stock, Jacob Marquez, Tyler Blanding, Wyatt Froehling, Ben Jennings, Josh Marquez, Dylan Reetz, Dan Nowaczyk, Dalton Kaufmann, and Tyson Rogers; and

WHEREAS, The dedication and persistence exhibited by these young men is worthy of the greatest respect; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Cissna Park 7th Grade Wildcat Basketball Team on the occasion of winning the 2008 7-1A State Basketball Championship and wish them continued success in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Vincent Lober as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
