1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Chad Vargas on
4 being named the Oswego Police Officer of the Year; and

5     WHEREAS, Chad Vargas received the award for just being "a
6 great cop"; and

7     WHEREAS, Oswego Police Chief Dwight Baird noted his overall
8 police work as being the factor in Officer Vargas receiving the
9 award; and

10     WHEREAS, He is a dedicated officer and very professional
11 and he is noted as being a caring officer; and

12     WHEREAS, He had over 100 arrests in 2007, 13 DUI arrests,
13 and 28 drug arrests; and

14     WHEREAS, Officer Vargas has been with the Oswego Police
15 Department for two and a half years; he previously worked with
16 the police department at Northern Illinois University;
17 therefore, be it

18     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
19 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

1 congratulate Chad Vargas on being named the Oswego Police
2 Officer of the Year and thank him for his service and
3 dedication to the community; and be it further

4     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to Officer Chad Vargas as a symbol of our respect.
