HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the wrestling team from Montini Catholic High School in Lombard on winning the Class AA State Championship; and

WHEREAS, This was the 6th IHSA State Championship for Montini; this was the first time that one of Montini's sports programs won a State championship in Class AA; they defeated Providence Catholic High School for the State Title with a 37-25 win, on Saturday February 23, 2008; and

WHEREAS, The season record was an impressive 36 wins and one loss; the individual State placewinners were Jake Gregerson, Isaiah Gonzalez, Dan Stelter, Carl Foreside, Dan Grimes, and Garrett Goebel; individual State qualifiers were Sam Brody, Benny Marti, Frank Baer, Jake Gregerson, Isaiah Gonzalez, Dan Stelter, Carl Foreside, Dan Grimes, Garrett Goebel, and Colton Rasche; and

WHEREAS, The team finished second at "The Clash" National Dual Tournament in Rochester, Minnesota; they finished second at "The Cheesehead" National Invitational in Kaukauna, Wisconsin; and they finished second at "The Dvorak" Invitational in Illinois; the team is the Suburban Catholic Conference Champions, and are ranked eighth nationally among all high schools in Amateur Wrestling News magazine; and

WHEREAS, The team is led by Head Coach Mike Bukovsky, and Assistant Coaches John Dziewiatkowski, Greg Goebel, Israel Martinez, Tony Marti, Joe Riccordino, Dan Jamieson, Mark Holstein, Tom Malony, and Mike Quirk; and

WHEREAS, The 2008 State Champion Montini Wrestling Team members are Sam Brody, Devin Marino, Ryan Dix,Ryan Rumph, Christ Divito, Chris Senese, Mark Marten, David Clarke, Benny Marti, Jake Gregerson, Bob Grimes, Donny Quattrocchi, Colton Rasche, Dan Grimes, Isaiah Gonzalez, Garrett Goebel, Dan Lowery, Dan Stelter, Mike Desmond, Pete Parenti, David Lembas, Mike Rakosnik, Mike Ferrarini, Carl Foreside, Grant Goebel, Alex Saunders, Brandon Hensley, Elliot Hudson, Kevin Dobry, Frank Baer, Mike Size, Ross Ferraro, and Dimitri Willis; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the young men from the Montini Catholic High School wrestling team on an impressive season and an incredible finish; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Montini Catholic High School wrestling team as a symbol of our respect.
