HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the owners and employees of the Village Voices in Lena on the occasion of winning the Division A Advertising Excellence Award from the Illinois Press Association; and

WHEREAS, Over 1,200 entries were submitted to the Illinois Press Association for its Advertising Excellence Awards; the Village Voices was chosen as the best newspaper in Division A, claiming more points than both the Elburn Herald and the Freeport Focus; and

WHEREAS, This victory marks the third consecutive year that the Village Voices has won an Advertising Excellence Award, a testament to its commitment to journalistic quality; and

WHEREAS, To achieve this astounding victory, the Village Voices won first and second place victories in the Best Shared Page/Sig Page and Best Niche Publication categories; first, third, and fourth place victories in the Best Full Page Ad category; first place victories in the Creative Use of One Color, Best One Time Special Section, and Best Classified Promotion categories; and second and third place victories in the Best Ad Designer category; and

WHEREAS, The commitment to journalistic excellence displayed by the owners and employees of the Village Voices is worthy of the greatest respect; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the owners and employees of the Village Voices in Lena on the occasion of winning the Division A Advertising Excellence Award and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Village Voices as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
