HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Courtney Weibel, a senior girl's basketball player at Rockford Hononegah High School, and the nation's all-time 3-point shooter; and

WHEREAS, Courtney Weibel wanted to continue shooting baskets when officials briefly stopped the recent game to acknowledge that Courtney had made her 456th career three-pointer in a game, breaking the national record; and

WHEREAS, Courtney Weibel will continue her achievements in basketball when she attends Marquette University on a basketball scholarship; and

WHEREAS, Courtney Weibel shoots 100 3-point shots a day in her gym class, and then shoots more during team practice; and

WHEREAS, The team's coach is Ms. Weibel's proud father, Randy Weibel; and

WHEREAS, Courtney Weibel is someone the State of Illinois can be proud of, and we look forward to hearing more great things as she moves on in her sports career; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Courtney Weibel on breaking the girl's high school national 3-point record; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Courtney Weibel as a symbol of our respect and admiration.
