HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that there is created a task force to study the costs and other issues associated with the provision of health insurance for part-time employees, graduate employees, and graduate assistants of public community colleges and public universities in Illinois; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the task force shall consist of 4 legislative members appointed one each by the Speaker and Minority Leader of the House of Representatives and the President and Minority Leader of the Senate; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the task force may also include 2 representatives of the management of public universities in Illinois, the representatives to be designated by the management of universities selected by the Illinois Board of Higher Education, and 2 representatives selected one each by statewide organizations of higher education teachers, the organizations to be designated by the Illinois Board of Higher Education; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the task force shall select a chairperson from among its members and shall meet at the call of the chairperson; and be it further

RESOLVED, That task force members shall not receive compensation but shall be reimbursed for their expenses from funds appropriated for that purpose; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the task force shall report its findings and recommendations to the General Assembly by December 1, 2008.
