1 HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

2     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
3 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE
4 SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that there is created the
5 Probationary School Oversight Committee to work with
6 principals and staff to develop stringent guidelines to address
7 school performance; and be it further

8     RESOLVED, That the Committee shall consist of 2 members
9 appointed by the President of the Senate, 2 members appointed
10 by the Minority Leader of the Senate, 2 members appointed by
11 the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and 2 members
12 appointed by the Minority Leader of the House of
13 Representatives; and be it further

14     RESOLVED, That Committee members shall serve without
15 compensation, but may be reimbursed by the State Board of
16 Education for their reasonable and necessary expenses from
17 funds appropriated for that purpose; and be it further

18     RESOLVED, That the State Board of Education shall assign
19 the Committee those duties that it deems necessary in order for
20 the Committee to carry out its purposes under this resolution;
21 and be it further

1     RESOLVED, That the Committee shall report on its progress
2 to the State Board of Education and shall submit a final report
3 to the Governor, the General Assembly, and the State Board of
4 Education on or before December 31, 2008; and be it further

5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 delivered to the State Board of Education.
