SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
410 ILCS 625/3.2 new

    Amends the Food Handling Regulation Enforcement Act. Provides that any establishment dealing in the sale of food items and that has an indoor playground on its premises must comply with regulations involving the inspection of indoor playground areas for sanitation purposes. Provides that the Director of Public Health shall promulgate rules for the inspection of indoor playgrounds at any establishment dealing in the sale of food items, including standards of proper sanitation and frequency of playground inspection. Provides that any establishment that does not comply with the regulations concerning indoor playground sanitation shall be enjoined from doing business in the manner described in the Act. Effective January 1, 2009.

1     AN ACT concerning health.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Food Handling Regulation Enforcement Act is
5 amended by adding Section 3.2 as follows:
 
6     (410 ILCS 625/3.2 new)
7     Sec. 3.2. Playground inspection. Any establishment dealing
8 in the sale of food items and that has an indoor playground on
9 its premises must comply with regulations involving the
10 inspection of indoor playground areas for sanitation purposes.
11 The Director of Public Health shall promulgate rules for the
12 inspection of indoor playgrounds at any establishment dealing
13 in the sale of food items, including standards of proper
14 sanitation and frequency of playground inspection. Any
15 establishment that does not comply with the regulations
16 concerning indoor playground sanitation shall be enjoined from
17 doing business in the manner described in Section 1 of this
18 Act.
 
19     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January
20 1, 2009.
