SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

225 ILCS 60/33.5 new

Amends the Medical Practice Act of 1987. Allows a person licensed under the Act who issues a prescription for a drug or medicine intended for the treatment of attention deficit disorder or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder to deem the prescription refillable.

AN ACT concerning regulation.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Medical Practice Act of 1987 is amended by adding Section 33.5 as follows:

(225 ILCS 60/33.5 new)

Sec. 33.5. Prescriptions issued for the treatment of attention deficit disorder or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Any person licensed under this Act who issues a prescription for a drug or medicine intended for the treatment of attention deficit disorder or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder may deem the prescription refillable on the prescription form or in any manner set forth by the Department.
