SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
230 ILCS 10/13.2 new

    Amends the Riverboat Gambling Act. Provides that the sum held by an owners licensee for payment of outstanding vouchers, if unclaimed after one year, shall be retained by the owners licensee for payment of the vouchers until that date and that, within 10 days thereafter, 75% of the sum remaining unclaimed shall be paid to the Illinois Veterans' Homes Fund and the remaining 25% of the sum remaining unclaimed shall be retained by the owners licensee. Provides that any sum held by an owners licensee on the effective date for payment of outstanding vouchers that have remained unclaimed for one year or longer shall be similarly distributed as soon as practical after the effective date. Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning gaming.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Riverboat Gambling Act is amended by adding
5 Section 13.2 as follows:
 
6     (230 ILCS 10/13.2 new)
7     Sec. 13.2. Unclaimed vouchers.
8     (a) For the purpose of this Section, "voucher" means a
9 printed paper scrip representing the value in United States
10 currency stating on the face of the scrip that is issued by a
11 printer connected to an electronic gaming device at a riverboat
12 gaming operation and is redeemable for electronic credits or
13 United States currency and is not a coupon or other promotional
14 item.
15     (b) The sum held by an owners licensee for payment of
16 outstanding vouchers, if unclaimed after one year, shall be
17 retained by the owners licensee for payment of the vouchers
18 until that date. Within 10 days thereafter, 75% of the sum
19 remaining unclaimed shall be paid to the Illinois Veterans'
20 Homes Fund. The remaining 25% of the sum remaining unclaimed
21 shall be retained by the owners licensee.
22     (c) Any sum held by an owners licensee on the effective
23 date of this amendatory Act of the 95th General Assembly for

1 payment of outstanding vouchers that have remained unclaimed
2 for one year or longer shall be distributed as provided in
3 subsection (b) of this Section as soon as practical after the
4 effective date of this amendatory Act.
 
5     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
6 becoming law.
