SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert G. Blair of Pekin, who passed away on September 3, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Robert Blair was born to Russell W. and Hildred R. (Moffitt) Blair in Chandlerville on August 10, 1933; he married Shirley Deane Thrasher in Jacksonville on October 4, 1952; he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, Robert Blair worked in manufacturing and corporation property at Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria for 39 years, retiring in 1987; and

WHEREAS, Robert Blair was a former member of the Pekin Jaycees, Pekin Moose Family Center #916, Pekin Elks Lodge #1271, and the Sunset Hills Golf Club; he was a former member of First Christian Church in Pekin and attended the Northwoods Community Church in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, Robert Blair loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his dog, Gracie; he also enjoyed traveling, golfing, and working in his yard; and

WHEREAS, Robert Blair was preceded in death by his parents and his wife; and

WHEREAS, Robert Blair is survived by his daughters, Diana (Mike) Harvey, Janis (Scott) Elmore, and Linda (Randy) Bowen; his grandchildren, Andrew (Johnna Billingsley) Harvey, Nicholas (Allison) Harvey, Caitlyn (Cole) Radford, Tyler (Jen) Harvey, Aleigh (Matt) Stauffer, Ivy (Matt) Grashoff, Erin (Brian) Goudie, Corey (Nikki) Elmore, Stephanie (Sean) Ray, and Matthew (Amanda) Holmes; his step-grandchild, Ashley (Jake) Schneider; 15 great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; and his sister, Merle Fricke; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert G. Blair and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Blair as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
