SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Stuart A. Pollitt of Canton, who passed away on July 13, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Stuart Pollitt was born to Gilbert and Ruby (Potts) Pollitt in Canton on October 27, 1951; and

WHEREAS, Stuart Pollitt made a career serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, first serving in the U.S. Army and then in the U.S. Navy; and

WHEREAS, Stuart Pollitt was an avid collector of coins and signed Chicago Cubs baseballs; he enjoyed the study of military history and spending time with his friends at Jack's; and

WHEREAS, Stuart Pollitt was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dennis Pollitt; and

WHEREAS, Stuart Pollitt is survived by his niece, Missi (Sam) Thomas; his great-nieces, Velvet (Patrick Lawrence) Thomas, Josey (James Harris) Thomas, and Londyn Thomas; and his great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, Dre, Jur-ney, Justyce, and Luna; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Stuart A. Pollitt and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Stuart Pollitt as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
