| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Jack Puckett of New Boston, who passed | 4 | | away on July 8, 2023; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jack Puckett was born to James H. and Betty J. | 6 | | Timms Puckett in Pace, Mississippi on February 28, 1939; he | 7 | | served in the U.S. Air Force; he married Peggie J. LeHew in | 8 | | Aledo on March 2, 1961, and she preceded him in death on July | 9 | | 20, 2018; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Jack Puckett worked as a pipefitter welder | 11 | | through Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 25, where he was | 12 | | a 52-year member; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Jack Puckett was a true outdoorsman and loved | 14 | | golfing, camping, hunting, fishing, and painting outdoor | 15 | | scenes; he was a talented welder, and he helped friends with | 16 | | welding projects and created bracelets, sculptures, and belt | 17 | | buckles; he was also an avid dog trainer and took great pride | 18 | | in his dogs; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Jack Puckett's greatest joy was spending time | 20 | | with his family, especially his grandchildren; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Jack Puckett was preceded in death by his | 2 | | parents; his son in infancy, Timothy; his son, Joel Puckett; | 3 | | his brothers, John, James, and Elmer Puckett; his sister, | 4 | | Polly Mathis; and his great-grandson, Nathan Robertson; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jack Puckett is survived by his children, Montie | 6 | | (Teresa) Schell, Gene (Heather) Puckett, Rick Puckett, and | 7 | | Monica Ruddy; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one | 8 | | great-great-grandson; and his friend, Patty Meminger; | 9 | | therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Jack Puckett and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | 13 | | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Jack Puckett as an expression of our | 16 | | deepest sympathy.
