| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Rock Island Arsenal Fire Department | 4 | | Captain Tad David Robison (Ret.) of Andalusia, who passed away | 5 | | on April 2, 2023; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Capt. Robison was born to David and Sharon | 7 | | (Dreessen) Robison on September 12, 1970; growing up, he was | 8 | | an active member in Boy Scouts Troop #425; he married Michelle | 9 | | Proksch of Moline on July 4, 1992; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Capt. Robison served in the Illinois National | 11 | | Guard; during his service, he received a number of accolades, | 12 | | including the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense | 13 | | Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, and the | 14 | | Illinois Long and Honorable Medal; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Capt. Robison began his love for firefighting as | 16 | | a volunteer firefighter in Coyne Center and Sherrard; he | 17 | | started his professional firefighting career at the Rock | 18 | | Island Arsenal Fire Department in March 2001, where he reached | 19 | | the rank of captain; when he accepted the position as a | 20 | | firefighter, he also took on the chef role in the firehouse and | 21 | | became known for producing delicious and plentiful amounts of | 22 | | food; he retired after 20 years of service in March 2021; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, During his tenure with the Rock Island Arsenal | 2 | | Fire Department, Capt. Robison received the Civilian Service | 3 | | Commendation Medal, the Life Saving Hero of the Day award, and | 4 | | numerous letters of commendation for service to the Rock | 5 | | Island Arsenal; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Capt. Robison additionally served as an off-ice | 7 | | official for the Quad City Mallards and Storm hockey teams; | 8 | | and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Capt. Robison enjoyed coaching and watching his | 10 | | daughter, Kaitlyn, play softball, starting with T-ball and | 11 | | going all the way to watching her play in college and Italy; he | 12 | | was a proud "Papa" to his grandson, Lorenzo David, who | 13 | | experienced his first hunting season with his grandfather last | 14 | | November; he loved hunting, fishing, and having a drink with | 15 | | all of his friends that he loved like brothers, and some of his | 16 | | fondest memories were made during their fishing trips to Lake | 17 | | Erie and the Hunters Prayer at the Iverson Garage every | 18 | | November; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Capt. Robison was very proud of his family, | 20 | | friends, and his career as a firefighter; he will be | 21 | | remembered for his strength, his determination, and his | 22 | | passion for his job; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Capt. Robison was preceded in death by his | 2 | | grandparents, Ken and Marjorie Dreessen and Jesse and Pauline | 3 | | Robison; his uncles, Jesse JR Robison and Hank Hanson; and his | 4 | | many pets; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Capt. Robison is survived by his wife, Michelle; | 6 | | his daughter, Kaitlyn (Gino) DeGeorge; his grandson; his | 7 | | parents; his sister, Tara (Brad) Stauffer; his niece, Kelsa | 8 | | Stauffer; his aunts, Pat (Jay) Thomas and Jackie Hanson; his | 9 | | special friends, Adam Clark, Don Henry, and Mike Iverson; his | 10 | | firefighter family; and his large extended family; therefore, | 11 | | be it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 14 | | Rock Island Arsenal Fire Department Captain Tad David Robison | 15 | | (Ret.) and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | 16 | | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| 17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 18 | | presented to the family of Capt. Robison as an expression of | 19 | | our deepest sympathy.
