SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Nannette Brolley (nee Hummel), longtime resident of Princeton and Waukegan, on January 31, 2005; and

WHEREAS, She was born November 17, 1931 in Fort Madison, Iowa; and

WHEREAS, Prior to her marriage, Nannette was a flight attendant for Delta Airlines; she enjoyed traveling, playing cards, lunches with the ladies, and playing with her grandchildren; she will be remembered for her high energy level, zest for living, and a terrific sense of humor; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Nannette Brolley is felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her husband and partner of 50 years, Jerome; her sons Mark (Janet) and William (Catherine); her grandchildren, Ryan, Daniel, Jack, Tracey, and Matthew; her sisters-in-law, Barbara (Jack) Genster and Mary Ann (Jim) McLain; her cousin, Mary Lou Fernetti; and a host of nieces and nephews; and

WHEREAS, She will be forever remembered in the thoughts, prayers, and hearts of her family and friends as an extremely compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, and friend; Nannette maintained close friendships throughout her lifetime with individuals from her home in Princeton and 50 years in Waukegan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that even as her death is mourned, we give thanks for the blessing of Nannette Brolley's life and extend our sincerest condolences to her family and friends, whose grief we share; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
