SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Gloria (Meling) Mason of South Ottawa Township on Tuesday, December 21, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Mason was born on June 22, 1941, in Ottawa to Truman L. and Betty (Breitenkamp) Meling; she married Arthur Mason on December 30, 1962, in the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Ottawa; and

WHEREAS, She was an R.N. and had been employed by the LaSalle County Health Department for many years; she was a member of First United Methodist Church and the LaSalle County Home Extension Handy Homemakers; and

WHEREAS, She is remembered as a loving woman, who was devoted to her family and gave to everybody; she continued to give even in her death by being an organ donor; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Gloria Mason has been deeply felt by many, especially her husband, Arthur; her mother, Betty Meling; her daughter, Leanne (Jim) Falbo; her sons, Matt (Laura) Mason, Mark (Diane) Mason, and Joe (Jan) Mason; her grandchildren, Dan and Jonathan Roesler, Anna, Sarah, Tess, Justus, Julia, and Joshua Mason; her brothers, Dr. Gary (Joyce) Meling, Dr. David (Judy) Meling, and Robert Meling; and her sister, Merrilee (Jerry) Lubshina; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Gloria Mason, and we extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of our deepest sympathy for their loss.
