SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jerry Morgan of Alton, Illinois, who passed away on December 4, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Morgan was born on September 20, 1947, in Alton, Illinois; his parents were William and Mattie (Smith) Morgan; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Morgan attended Alton Senior High School and was a graduate of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale; and

WHEREAS, He worked at the Olin Corporation as foreman in the Brass Mill for 27 years, before retiring in 2003; he enjoyed working on the computer and taking photographs; Mr. Morgan was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Army; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Morgan is survived by his loving daughter, Gale Morgan; his stepchildren, Angelia and Antonous Jones; his grandchildren, Gabriel Ryan Lee, BreAunnika Marble, and Jaylon Nunn; his sisters, Katherine Ware, Gwendolyn (Herman) Gilchrest, Bertha (David) Brown, Vickie Morgan, and Mary (Mark) Wilson; his brothers, William (Connie) Morgan, Jr., Joseph (Kay) Morgan, Julius (Lisa) Morgan, and Vincent (Veronica) Morgan; his nieces and nephews; his special nephews, Jvan Morgan and Walter Morgan; and his special niece, Julie Morgan; he was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Judy Morgan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Jerry Morgan; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jerry Morgan, along with our sincere regards.
