SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois were grieved to learn of the death of Edward Pierre Paul Czajkowski, formerly of North Chicago, on February 12, 2005; and

WHEREAS, He was born on June 26, 1949; during the Vietnam War, Mr. Czajkowski completed training in jet engine mechanics-gas turbine unit maintenance, at Nellis Air Force Base; he was among the last American soldiers to leave Vietnam, where he served with the Special Forces; and

WHEREAS, He continued to use his expertise at Commonwealth Edison and the Wisconsin Electric Power Company as plant operator, control operator, and supervisor; he ultimately had over 30 years experience in power plant operations; an expert on boiler/turbine maintenance, he was qualified on every facet of coal handling; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Czajkowski spent his last few years living and working in Ohio where he was responsible for construction and maintenance of communication stations and computer data shelters for the state of Ohio MARCS Program; a skilled craftsman who could take on nearly any job indoors or out, he taught employees and friends the skills necessary to maintain anything from power plants to private homes and cars; and

WHEREAS, His tastes ranged from classical music to the western artist Remington; he enjoyed hunting and was an accomplished cook; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Edward Pierre Paul Czajkowski has been deeply felt by many, especially his father, Arthur J. Czajkowski; his brother, Roy Czajkowski; his sister Martha Mibeck; members of his mother's family residing in Ottawa, Canada; and his children, Arthur, Michelle, Edward, Jason, Sarah, and Jessica; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Edward Pierre Paul Czajkowski, and we extend our deepest sympathy to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our sincere condolences.
