SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express their sincere condolences to the family of Emery Earl Coleman, who passed away on May 31, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Emery Coleman was born in Philadelphia, Mississippi, on August 30, 1940; his parents were Roy and Lois Coleman; and

WHEREAS, He was a graduate of Tilden High School; he later joined the military and was honorably discharged in 1964; and

WHEREAS, He married his wife, Susie Mae, on December 27, 1958; and

WHEREAS, While he was still in school and worked full-time for the City of Chicago, he still found time to be active in the community; he was a coach of a little league team for many years; he served as a precinct captain for the third ward for eight years; and he was a member of the Masons; and

WHEREAS, Emery Coleman is survived by his wife, Susie; his children, Debra Pullin, Emery Earl Coleman, Jr., and Lisa Coleman; his grandchildren, Tyler O. Pullin and Emery A. Coleman; his daughter-in-law, Angelia Coleman; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family, the passing of Emery Coleman; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Emery E. Coleman.
