SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the passing of Julius H. Waldschmidt of
4 Henry on October 8, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Julius Waldschmidt was born on July 8, 1919, in
6 Metamora to Vitus O. and Gertrude (Scheirer) Waldschmidt; he
7 married Dorris Reising on January 10, 1942, in Metamora; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Mr. Waldschmidt served in the United States Army
9 during World War II in the European Theater, receiving four
10 Bronze Battle stars; he was a member of the Henry American
11 Legion Post #323 for over 50 years, the Henry Volunteer Fire
12 Department for 35 years, and served on the board of directors
13 of La Prairie Mutual Insurance Co. for 27 years, four of those
14 years as president; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Mr. Waldschmidt was a lifelong farmer in the Henry
16 area; he was also a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in
17 Camp Grove; and
 
18     WHEREAS, The passing of Julius Waldschmidt has been deeply
19 felt by many, especially his wife Doris Waldschmidt; his sons,
20 Marvin A. (Anita) Waldschmidt, Allan L. (Vicki) Waldschmidt,
21 Russell L. (Pat) Waldschmidt, Ernest J. (Pam) Waldschmidt, and
22 Dean F. (Kathy) Waldschmidt; his daughters, Doreen M. (Howard)
23 Shipman and Julia R. (Bob) Read; his brothers, Leonard
24 (Kathryn) Waldschmidt and Dennis Waldschmidt; his sisters,
25 Imelda Monge, Viola Presley, and Anna Jean (Ron) Krolak; his 22
26 grandchildren; and his 16 great-grandchildren; in addition to
27 his parents, his brother, Norbert and his sister, Loretta,
28 preceded him in death; therefore, be it
 
29     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
30 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

1 Julius Waldschmidt, and we extend our sincere condolences to
2 his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
3 further
 
4     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
6 sympathy.
