SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of Senate were deeply saddened to
3 learn of the death of Mary Bridget "DonnieMae" Collins on July
4 29, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mary Bridget Houston was born on November 27,
6 1937, in Memphis, Tennesee to Daisy S. and Donzell Houston; she
7 was baptized as an infant at St. Augustine Church in Memphis,
8 where she faithfully attended with her grandmother, Daisy
9 Perkins; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Mrs. Collins obtained her LPN and RN in Battle
11 Creek, Michigan; upon her relocation to the Chicagoland area in
12 1975, she continued her formal education and obtained both her
13 Bachelors and Masters degrees in the field of Nursing; her gift
14 of nursing allowed her to teach and touch the hearts of many
15 over the years from the United States to Africa; and
 
16     WHEREAS, A very spiritual and faith-filled person, Mrs.
17 Collins rededicated her life to Christ in 1990 upon joining the
18 Faith Community of St. Sabina; she continued her gift of caring
19 through her membership in the Ministry of Care at St. Sabina;
20 and
 
21     WHEREAS, The passing of Mary Bridget Collins will be felt
22 by all who knew and loved her, especially her husband, Joseph
23 Collins; her children, Yvette Mary (Ron) Dunlap, Ronald Eugene
24 (Margaret) Thompson, Donna Lynette (Bill) Biggus, Vincent Dale
25 Watson, and Marilyn Dionne (Phillip) Hunter; her
26 grandchildren, Taylor Dunlap, Ronald (Angie) Thompson II,
27 Derrick Thompson, Justin Thompson, Amanda Thompson, Chrisann
28 Biggus, Bridget Biggus, Sabrina Biggus, Montrell Watson,
29 Nicole Watson, Justin Watson, Ashia Hunter, Malachi Hunter,
30 Melvin Clemons, and Honesty Clemons; her great-grandchildren,
31 Tristan, Dachia, Jamal, Mikiah, Jyaer, Amari, Najae, Kalasia,

1 and Kairiq; her ex-husband, Donald Thompson; as well as a
2 multitude of other family members and very dear friends;
3 therefore, be it
 
4     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
6 Mary Bridget Collins, and we extend our sincerest condolences
7 to her family and friends; and be it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to her family as an expression of our deepest
10 sympathy.
