SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Sgt. Matthew J.
4 Vosbein of Clarksville, Tennessee, formerly of West Frankfort,
5 on Tuesday, August 29, 2006, while serving his country in Iraq;
6 and
 
7     WHEREAS, He was born on January 30, 1976, in West Frankfort
8 to Tim Lingle and Anna Vosbein; he was united in marriage to
9 the former Lynda Dodge on February 19, 2005, in Fort Campbell,
10 Tennessee; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He enlisted in the United States Army in September
12 of 2002 at Fort Benning, Georgia; following basic training he
13 was assigned to Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and was eventually
14 deployed to Iraq where he served his tour of duty; in September
15 of 2004 he chose to stay in the army and re-enlisted; scheduled
16 to go to Germany, he chose instead to return to Iraq to
17 continue to serve with his buddies; and
 
18     WHEREAS, He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in
19 Clarksville, Tennessee, and a member of the Catholic faith; and
 
20     WHEREAS, The passing of Sgt. Matthew J. Vosbein has been
21 deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Lynda; his sons,
22 Connor Matthew Vosbein, John Joseph Vosbein, and Brandon Glenn
23 Jackson; his mother, Anna Williams and her husband, Gene; his
24 father, Tim Lingle and his wife, Amy; his brothers, Hagle
25 Williams III, Brandon Lingle, Christopher Williams, Jason
26 Lingle, Jeremy Lingle, and Lucas Lingle; and his grandparents,
27 Lois and Vernon Veaughn, Lester and Sandra Lingle, and Hagle
28 Williams Sr.; he was preceded in death by his grandparents,
29 Charles and Ella Mae Vosbein; and his grandmother, Helen
30 Williams; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3 Sergeant Matthew J. Vosbein, and we extend our sincere
4 condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
5 him; and be it further
 
6     RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Sergeant Vosbein and
7 his willingness to serve our country, which led to him making
8 the ultimate sacrifice; and be it further
 
9     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to his family as an expression of our sincerest
11 condolences.
