SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Lance H. Wuellner of Alton on Saturday, September 9, 2006; and

WHEREAS, He was born on March 14, 1945, in Alton to Dorothy D. (Duncan) Wuellner and Bert J. Wuellner, who once served as mayor of Alton; and

WHEREAS, He was united in marriage to the former Karen Sue Crump on June 12, 1982, in the mountains of New Mexico; they later had their marriage blessed by Father Don Roberts on July 25, 1982, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton, where Mr. Wuellner was a lifetime member; and

WHEREAS, He graduated from Chaminade Catholic High School in St. Louis and later earned his Ph.D. in leisure studies from the University of Illinois, where he was a member of the Chi PSI Fraternity; and

WHEREAS, He was an activity director at The Fountains IV in Godfrey; in his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors, listening to music, dancing, working crossword puzzles, reading the Bible, and reciting the rosary daily; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Lance H. Wuellner has been deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Karen; his mother, Dorothy; his sons, Caleb M. Wuellner and Travis A. Wuellner; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Todd G. and Debbie Wuellner, Eric D. and Kara Wuellner, Kris D. and Melinda Wuellner, Miles B. Wuellner, Scott A. Wuellner, Gayne S. and Jeannette Wuellner, Kent L. and Peggy Wuellner, and Grant E. Wuellner; his sisters and brother-in-law, Maris E. Shaw and Jena W. and Matthew R. Collins; his mother-in-law, Judy P. Crump; his many nieces and nephews; his other extended family; and his many friends; he was preceded in death by his father, Bert J. Wuellner, and his father-in-law, Silas B. Crump; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lance H. Wuellner, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, his friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
