SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Leroy William Siegel of
4 Collinsville on Sunday, August 6, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born on April 13, 1927, in Troy to John and
6 Rose (Loyet) Siegel; he married the former Mary Catherine
7 Spalding on May 7, 1949; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Mr. Siegel retired from the Illinois Power plant
9 in Wood River after 39 years of service and was a member of
10 IBEW Local 51; he was a third-degree knight with the
11 Collinsville Knights of Columbus 1712 and was involved with
12 Thursday bingo; and
 
13     WHEREAS, A past member and usher at the SS. Peter and Paul
14 Catholic Church in Collinsville, he was a member of the parents
15 club and SS. Peter and Paul Booster Club; he also had been a
16 Khoury League baseball coach; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Mr. Siegel was a loving husband, father, and
18 grandfather and will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary
19 Catherine; his sons, David Siegel, Dan Siegel, Tom Siegel, John
20 Siegel, and Mike Siegel and his wife, Becky; his grandchildren,
21 Scott, Tony, Ryan, Tasha, and Matthew; his sister, Norma Seipp,
22 and her husband, Dick; his brother, Darwin Siegel, and his
23 wife, Mary H.; and his numerous nieces and nephews; he was
24 preceded in death by his parents and his sister and
25 brother-in-law, Dorothy and Douglas Metz; therefore, be it
 
26     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
27 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
28 Leroy William Siegel, and we extend our sincere condolences to
29 his family, his friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
30 it further

1     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
3 sympathy.
