SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of William Bock of Pekin on February 3, 2005; and

WHEREAS, He was born November 11, 1924 in Sweetwater to Lewis Otto and Grace Fern Weaver Bock; he married Betty A. Jones on September 27, 1947 in Pekin; and

WHEREAS, He was a World War II Navy veteran; and

WHEREAS, He worked for American Distilling Company in Pekin, which later became Midwest Solvents, from 1948 until he retired in 1990; and

WHEREAS, He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pekin, where he was a former member of the board of trustees; he was also a member of Pekin Moose Lodge 916 and a former member of Pekin Elks; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his brother; and

WHEREAS, The passing of William Bock is felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Betty; his daughter, Christie (Phil) Webb; his brother, George (Lorretta); and his grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of William Bock and extend our heartfelt sympathy to his family; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
