| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois | 3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Almira Williams of Peoria | 4 |
| on Friday, July 21, 2006; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Lovingly known to her family and close friends as
| 6 |
| "Mar Mar", she was born to William "Bill" and Bertha (Robinson)
| 7 |
| Good on June 4, 1913, in Barberville, West Virginia; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, In 1930, she married Willie E. Williams; he | 9 |
| preceded her in death in 1975; and
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams was an active member of Bethel | 11 |
| United Methodist Church and was a founding member and dedicated | 12 |
| servant of the church's feeding program for the homeless and | 13 |
| less fortunate; she was also a member of Church Women United; | 14 |
| and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams will be missed for her genuine | 16 |
| caring, her spirit and spunk, her plain-spoken wisdom, and the | 17 |
| food that she prepared with consummate skill and served up with | 18 |
| generosity and a healthy dollop of love; she was known | 19 |
| particularly for the rolls and pie crust she made, which were | 20 |
| universally prized; and
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Almira Williams has been deeply | 22 |
| felt by many, especially her daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn | 23 |
| and John Timmes, with whom she had made her home since 1985; | 24 |
| her granddaughter, Johnna N. Timmes; her special friends, | 25 |
| Jeanne and Grant St. Julian and Dr. Barbara S. Penelton; and | 26 |
| her many other friends; she was preceded in death by her | 27 |
| parents, her husband, and by her granddaughter and namesake, | 28 |
| Janique Almira Timmes; therefore, be it
| 29 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 2 |
| Almira Williams, and we extend our sincere condolences to her | 3 |
| family, her friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 4 |
| further
| 5 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 6 |
| presented to her family as an expression of our deepest | 7 |
| sympathy.
