SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Robert Lee Humphrey of Zion
4 on March 23, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born on September 16, 1928, in Waukegan to
6 Stanley and Mildred (Ebert) Humphrey; he married Ruth E.
7 Goodwin, who preceded him in death on September 7, 1994; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Mr. Humphrey was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air
9 Corps, serving during WWII; he was a brick layer for 40 years
10 and was also employed as an X-Ray technician for Johnson Motors
11 in Waukegan for 15 years; and
 
12     WHEREAS, His hobby was wood crafting, and he especially
13 enjoyed making bird houses and nativity sets; he was an avid
14 fisherman and also enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling, boating, and
15 water skiing; and
 
16     WHEREAS, The passing of Robert Lee Humphrey has been deeply
17 felt by many, especially his children, Roberta (Eddie Powell)
18 Humphrey, Sharon Humphrey, and Robert Humphrey; his
19 grandchildren, Kimberly (Thomas) Paglusch, Anthony (Carla)
20 Hodgson, Heather Reed, Sheena Humphres, and Jeremy (Mirah)
21 Humphres; and his great-grandchildren, Marisa, Connor, Tarran,
22 Hailee, Kaytlyn, Nathaniel, Ashton, Alexis, Monet, Taylor,
23 Nick, Logan, and Dylan; his brothers, Larry Humphrey, Leonard
24 Humphrey, and Harold Humphrey; and his sisters, Mildred Swanson
25 and Helen Rasmussen; he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth;
26 and his parents; therefore, be it
 
27     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
28 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
29 Robert Lee Humphrey, and we extend our sincere condolences to
30 his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
