SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Robert Lee Humphrey of Zion on March 23, 2006; and

WHEREAS, He was born on September 16, 1928, in Waukegan to Stanley and Mildred (Ebert) Humphrey; he married Ruth E. Goodwin, who preceded him in death on September 7, 1994; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Humphrey was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving during WWII; he was a brick layer for 40 years and was also employed as an X-Ray technician for Johnson Motors in Waukegan for 15 years; and

WHEREAS, His hobby was wood crafting, and he especially enjoyed making bird houses and nativity sets; he was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling, boating, and water skiing; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Robert Lee Humphrey has been deeply felt by many, especially his children, Roberta (Eddie Powell) Humphrey, Sharon Humphrey, and Robert Humphrey; his grandchildren, Kimberly (Thomas) Paglusch, Anthony (Carla) Hodgson, Heather Reed, Sheena Humphres, and Jeremy (Mirah) Humphres; and his great-grandchildren, Marisa, Connor, Tarran, Hailee, Kaytlyn, Nathaniel, Ashton, Alexis, Monet, Taylor, Nick, Logan, and Dylan; his brothers, Larry Humphrey, Leonard Humphrey, and Harold Humphrey; and his sisters, Mildred Swanson and Helen Rasmussen; he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth; and his parents; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert Lee Humphrey, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
