SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of William E. Moore Sr. of
4 Hartford on Wednesday, March 29, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born on March 17, 1925, in Benton,
6 Missouri, to James "Elmer" and Irene (Bess) Moore; he married
7 the former Helen Miller on January 12, 1947, in Pekin; she
8 preceded him in death on January 21, 1993; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He valiantly served his country as a member of the
10 U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II and received
11 three Bronze Stars; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He was an ironworker for 24 years, retiring in
13 1972; he was a former trustee for the village of Hartford and a
14 member of Local 392 in East St. Louis, Wood River Masonic Lodge
15 1062, and VFW Post 2859; and
 
16     WHEREAS, The passing of William E. Moore Sr. has been
17 deeply felt by many, especially his son and daughter-in-law,
18 William E. Jr. and Cynthia Moore; his daughter, Deborah
19 Harrison; his grandchildren and their spouses, Craig and
20 Tiffany Moore, Robert Moore and Katie Bedwell, Jennifer
21 Pointer, Emily Harrison, and Matthew Harrison; his five
22 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Fern Sweeney and Helen
23 Stalcup; his brother, Dale Moore; and his companion, Melba
24 Pritchard; in addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by
25 his parents; his sons, Gary Moore and an infant; his brothers,
26 James and Delmar "Doc" Moore; and his sister, LaVern Hirsh;
27 therefore, be it
 
28     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
29 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
30 William E. Moore Sr., and we extend our sincere condolences to

1 his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
2 further
 
3     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
5 sympathy.
