SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Minister Elmarie Mosley of East St. Louis, who passed away on March 5, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Elmarie Pleasant was born on November 4, 1941 to John and Hursie Pleasant; she married Roy Mosley on August 7, 1964 and five children were born to this union; and

WHEREAS, From an early age, she accepted Christ as her Savior and worked diligently to embody His Word in her actions and deeds; she became a member of Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and later a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church; and

WHEREAS, In 1982, she was called to the ministry; Minister Mosley was a partner with Kenneth Haggin and Benny Hinn Ministeries; and

WHEREAS, Minister Mosley was also active in her community; for almost two decades, she served as an election judge stationed at Attucks Elementary School; she also was a successful Mary Kay Consultant for more than a decade; and

WHEREAS, Minister Mosley was preceded in death by both of her parents; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Minister Elmarie Mosley will be felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her husband, Roy Mosley, Jr.; her children, Thesda Mosley-Manu, Eulanda (Rickey) Shyne, Renetta Mosley, Roy Mosley, Jr., and David Mosley; her sister, Barbara Mattox; her brother Gerard Pleasant, Sr.; her grandchildren, Boafo Manu, Adwoa Manu, Kwame Manu, Rickey Shyne, II, and Eric Shyne; her special friend, Larry T. Hampton, Sr.; and a host of other relatives and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with all who knew and loved her, the death of Minister Elmarie Mosley; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Minister Elmarie Mosley with our sincere condolences.
