SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Barbara Jo Lacey of Alton
4 on Tuesday, March 7, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was born on January 8, 1956, in Alton to Joe
6 and Verna (Ringor) Roberson; she was a graduate of Alton High
7 School, Olin School of Practical Nursing, and Lewis and Clark
8 Community College of Nursing; and
 
9     WHEREAS, She was married to Gerald Wilson of Alton and
10 later married Glenn Lamont Lacey, who preceded her in death;
11 and
 
12     WHEREAS, Ms. Lacey was employed with the Department of
13 Public Health in Glen Carbon as a registered nurse; she had
14 served with the U.S. Air Force Reserves and was a member of
15 Trinity A.M.E. Church, where she served as a stewardess and
16 steward, a member of the Senior Choir, Sunday school, and Women
17 Missionary Society; she was also a member of the Allen Singers;
18 and
 
19     WHEREAS, The passing of Barbara Jo Lacey has been deeply
20 felt by many, especially her mother, Verna; her sons and
21 daughter-in-law, Gerald and Trellany Wilson, Joseph Wilson,
22 Matthew Wilson, and Nicholas Wilson; her grandson, Jalen
23 Wilson; her sisters and two brothers-in-law, Lillian Twine,
24 Jane and David Pollack, Shirley Neal, Patricia Brown, Gwendola
25 and George Isom, and Eve Roberson; her many aunts, uncles, and
26 cousins; her special friend, Gianna Brice; and her other
27 friends; she was preceded in death by her father; her brother,
28 Gylnn Kirk; and her brother-in-law, Edgar Twine; therefore, be
29 it
 
30     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL

1 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
2 Barbara Jo Lacey, and we extend our sincere condolences to her
3 family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
4 further
 
5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to her family as an expression of our deepest
7 sympathy.
