SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the untimely death of Thaddeus Weisner
4 of Aurora on Wednesday, January 18, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born on September 7, 1984, to Tom and
6 Marilyn Weisner on the island of Guadalcanal in the Solomon
7 Islands; his parents had joined the Peace Corps in 1980 and
8 spent five years in the Solomon Islands, helping bush people in
9 numerous capacities, including community development,
10 nutrition, sanitation, and education; he spent his first 11
11 months living in the rainforests of the Tetekanji District; the
12 family returned to Aurora when Thad was 11 months old; and
 
13     WHEREAS, He attended Gates, Johnson, and Freeman
14 elementary schools and Washington Middle School; he was in his
15 final semester at Hope D. Wall High School, whose staff and
16 students he especially loved; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Mr. Weisner endured a lifelong battle with
18 cerebral palsy, and though he was unable to speak, his face and
19 expression spoke volumes; his positive spirit and outlook was
20 admired, and through his expressions, he was able to
21 communicate the true joy of life, offering inspiration to those
22 around him as he worked hard to accomplish his goals; and
 
23     WHEREAS, The passing of Thaddeus Weisner has been deeply
24 felt by many, especially his parents, Aurora Mayor Tom Weisner
25 and Marilyn Weisner; his brother, Anthony Scotti and his
26 fiancee, Kristin, and newborn daughter, Olivia; his paternal
27 and maternal grandmothers, Cassie Weisner and Margaret Hogan;
28 his many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and the faculty, staff,
29 and students of Hope D. Wall High School; he was preceded in
30 death by his paternal and maternal grandfathers, John T.
31 Weisner and Frank P. Hogan, and his step-grandmother, Mary

1 Weisner; therefore, be it
 
2     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
3 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4 Thaddeus Weisner, and we extend our deepest sympathy to his
5 family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
6 further
 
7     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to his family as an expression of our sincerest
9 condolences.
