| SENATE RESOLUTION
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express | 3 |
| their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Edward | 4 |
| J. McMurray of Peoria, who passed away on February 3, 2006; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Edward McMurray was born on January 21, 1936, in | 6 |
| Peoria to Edward T. and Freda (Lahood) McMurray; he married | 7 |
| Betty Ann Couri in Peoria on June 24, 1958; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. McMurray graduated from Manual High School and | 9 |
| Bradley University; he worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years, | 10 |
| retiring in 1994 as a Senior Quality Engineer; while at | 11 |
| Caterpillar, he was a member of the Caterpillar Political | 12 |
| Action Committee; and he was also a Quality Management | 13 |
| Consultant and a member of the Board of Directors for MC | 14 |
| International; and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. McMurray always found time to give back to his | 16 |
| community; he was a member of the Itoo Society of Peoria; he | 17 |
| was the past president of the Midwest Federation of Lebanese | 18 |
| Clubs, the American Lebanese Club of Peoria, and St. Sharbel | 19 |
| Maronite Catholic Church Council; and he was a founding member | 20 |
| of St. Sharbel Maronite Church; and
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, Edward McMurray also authored a book on quality | 22 |
| management entitled "Hands on Approach to Total Quality | 23 |
| Management"; and
| 24 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. McMurray will always be remembered as a man of | 25 |
| great integrity, honor, and faith; he was known for his loving | 26 |
| and caring attitude toward everyone he came in contact with; he | 27 |
| enjoyed spending time with his many other relatives and | 28 |
| friends; and he was a devoted family man; and | 29 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. McMurray was preceded in death by his parents |

| and his sister, Elizabeth Barrack; and | 2 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Edward J. McMurray will be felt by | 3 |
| all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Betty; his | 4 |
| daughters, Diana (and Douglas) Olson, Mary (and Paul) Windsor, | 5 |
| Elizabeth, and Kathleen; his sons, Edward (and Patricia), | 6 |
| Stephan (and Marie), Jon (and Diane), Peter (and Sara), Mark | 7 |
| (and Kim), Greg (and Dana), James (and Kasey), and David; his | 8 |
| 17 grandchildren; and his many other relatives and friends; | 9 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL | 11 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 12 |
| all who knew and loved him, the death of Edward J. McMurray; | 13 |
| and be it further
| 14 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 |
| presented to the family of Edward J. McMurray as an expression | 16 |
| of our deepest sympathy.
