SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, Marine Lance Corporal Hector Ramos of Aurora died
3 in a helicopter crash during a desert sandstorm near the town
4 of Ar Rutbah, Iraq, on January 26, 2005; he was assigned to 1st
5 Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine
6 Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Base Hawaii; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Hector was born December 9, 1984 in Aurora;
8 although the notion had been in his head for years, he first
9 decided to join the Marines on September 11, 2001 after the
10 terrorist attacks; he joined the summer after he graduated in
11 2003 from East Aurora High School; and
 
12     WHEREAS, In high school he was always a leader; he was a
13 talented artist, president of the DECA marketing club, starred
14 in a number of school plays and always wanted to help other
15 students; he was a proud Marine and returned to his school to
16 tell students of his experiences in the Marines; and
 
17     WHEREAS, He will be remembered as a smiling, friendly,
18 outgoing, creative, talented, involved, fun-loving, and proud
19 young man; and
 
20     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his grandfather,
21 Manuel Becker, and his uncle, Hector Becker; and
 
22     WHEREAS, He is survived by his mother, Nancy Ramos; his
23 father, Aurelio Ramos; his brothers, Noah and Isiah Ramos; his
24 uncles, Joel (Nina) Becker and Manuel (Gloria) Becker; his
25 aunt, Tawney Becker; his grandmother, Irene Becker; and his
26 fiancee, Jessica Jimenez; therefore, be it
 
27     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
28 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that together with his
29 family, friends, fellow members of the United States armed

1 forces, and the citizens of this State and this great nation,
2 we mourn the passing of Marine Lance Corporal Hector Ramos and
3 we extend to his family our sincerest condolences; and be it
4 further
 
5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
7 sympathy.
