SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Kathleen Ann "Kathy"
4 Decker of Naperville on Wednesday, February 2, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was born on May 19, 1947, at the Mayo Clinic
6 in Rochester, Minnesota, delivered by Dr. Benjamin Spock; she
7 had been a resident of Naperville for the past 21 years and was
8 a former resident of Berwyn; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Mrs. Decker graduated in 1965 from Morton West
10 High School and received an associate's degree in business from
11 Morton Junior College in 1967; she worked for her father's
12 medical practice group for 24 years as an office manager and
13 assistant; and
 
14     WHEREAS, Mrs. Decker was an Avon representative, and she
15 set several sales records; in 1997, she started working
16 alongside her husband as his office manager for his business,
17 Nu-Life Windows; she loved collecting American Girl dolls,
18 collector plates, and polar-bear collectibles; and
 
19     WHEREAS, The passing of Kathleen Ann "Kathy" Decker has
20 been deeply felt by many, especially her husband, Roger, whom
21 she married in 1991; her parents, William Ashley, M.D., and
22 Alice Elizabeth "Betty" (King) Ashley; her daughters, Natalie
23 (husband Bryan) Corrigan and Brenda (husband Ted) Seil; her
24 grandchildren, Alyssa and Tyler Seil and Colin and Devin
25 Corrigan; her brother, William Jr. (wife Aurora) Ashley; and
26 her three sisters, Jeanette (husband Jeffrey) Radzak, Virginia
27 (husband Dale) Ochwat, and Marilyn Ashley; therefore, be it
 
28     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
29 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
30 Kathleen Ann "Kathy" Decker, and we extend our deepest sympathy

1 to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
2 it further
 
3     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4 presented to her family as an expression of our sincere
5 condolences.
