SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, It is with regret and sorrow that the Senate of
3 the State of Illinois has learned of the untimely death of
4 Nicholas F. "Nick" Howe of Aurora on October 21, 2005, at Camp
5 Pendleton, California, during training exercises while serving
6 in the U.S. Marine Corps; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Mr. Howe was born April 4, 1984, in Milwaukee,
8 Wisconsin; he graduated from Holy Angels Grade School in 1998
9 and West Aurora High School in 2002; he also attended Millikin
10 University in Decatur on an academic scholarship for two years
11 and was most recently employed by Touch of Glass in Aurora; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He loved his time in Aurora and was very involved
13 in sports; he played in YMCA T-ball, Aurora Boys Baseball,
14 Plano JFL, Kicker Soccer, Sharpshooter Basketball, Holy Angels
15 School football, basketball, track, chess club, and Turner Club
16 Softball; he played football, basketball, and baseball at West
17 Aurora High School and varsity football for Millikin University
18 for two years; he was also a member of Alpha Tau Omega
19 Fraternity; and
 
20     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his paternal
21 grandparents, Harold and Margaret Howe; his maternal
22 grandparents, Paul and Reba Carr; his uncle and godfather,
23 James Preston Carr; and his uncle, Frederick Leon Carr; and
 
24     WHEREAS, The passing of Nicholas Howe is felt by all who
25 knew and loved him, especially his parents, Michael J. and
26 Judith F. (Carr) Howe; his aunt and godmother, Joan (Willard)
27 Payne; his aunts, Kathy (Ronald) Getz and Mary Jane (Dennis)
28 Marfell; his uncles, Peter (Karen) Howe, Thomas (Noot) Howe,
29 and Richard Howe; his girlfriend, Desarae Eck; and numerous
30 cousins; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3 Nicholas Howe and extend our sincerest condolences to his
4 family, friends, and community; and be it further
 
5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
7 sympathy.
