SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Charles "Chuck" Huie of
4 Christopher on Sunday, November 20, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born on January 30, 1923, in Sesser to
6 Merideth and Mary L. (Jolley) Huie; he married Mary Ann (Pleva)
7 Huie; he was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Mr. Huie was the owner of Huie Auto Body in
9 Christopher and a member of First Baptist Church in
10 Christopher; he was a volunteer fireman for many years, a
11 member of the VFW and the American Legion of Christopher, and a
12 Cub and Boy Scout Leader and was awarded the silver beaver; and
 
13     WHEREAS, The passing of Charles "Chuck" Huie has been
14 deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Mary Ann (Pleva)
15 Huie; his son, Doug Huie and friend, Jennifer Keener; his
16 daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Mark Santopietro; his
17 grandchildren, Ryan and Jennifer Huie, Joel and Amie Huie,
18 Salina and Roy Vahling, Angela Nicole Bruns and fiancé, Nate
19 Wallace, Jeremy Huie and fiancée Donnelley Flint, and Michael
20 Santopietro and fiancée, Jennie Siron; his
21 great-grandchildren, Rylin Dawn Leigh Huie, Grant William
22 Huie, and Cole Andrey Huie; his brothers and sisters, Ilah
23 Winn, Mable Page, Metzie Ward, Jeannie Kretz, and Ronald Huie;
24 he was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, William
25 and James Huie; and his sisters, Alta June and Ruth; therefore,
26 be it
 
27     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
28 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
29 Charles "Chuck" Huie, and we extend our sincere condolences to
30 his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
31 further

1     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
3 sympathy.
