SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Charles "Chuck" Huie of Christopher on Sunday, November 20, 2005; and

WHEREAS, He was born on January 30, 1923, in Sesser to Merideth and Mary L. (Jolley) Huie; he married Mary Ann (Pleva) Huie; he was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Huie was the owner of Huie Auto Body in Christopher and a member of First Baptist Church in Christopher; he was a volunteer fireman for many years, a member of the VFW and the American Legion of Christopher, and a Cub and Boy Scout Leader and was awarded the silver beaver; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Charles "Chuck" Huie has been deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Mary Ann (Pleva) Huie; his son, Doug Huie and friend, Jennifer Keener; his daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Mark Santopietro; his grandchildren, Ryan and Jennifer Huie, Joel and Amie Huie, Salina and Roy Vahling, Angela Nicole Bruns and fiancé, Nate Wallace, Jeremy Huie and fiancée Donnelley Flint, and Michael Santopietro and fiancée, Jennie Siron; his great-grandchildren, Rylin Dawn Leigh Huie, Grant William Huie, and Cole Andrey Huie; his brothers and sisters, Ilah Winn, Mable Page, Metzie Ward, Jeannie Kretz, and Ronald Huie; he was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, William and James Huie; and his sisters, Alta June and Ruth; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Charles "Chuck" Huie, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
