SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Illinois Senate learned with sadness of the death of Canary Banks of North Chicago on March 4, 2005 at the age of 90; and

WHEREAS, Canary Banks was one of seven children born to Herbert and Louise Land; she spent most of her life as a resident of East St. Louis, but recently moved to North Chicago to live with her son and daughter-in-law; and

WHEREAS, The loss of Ms. Banks will be deeply felt by many, especially her loving son and daughter-in-law, Wadell and Daisy Brooks; her grandchildren, Yolanda Brooks, Wadell Brooks, Jr., and CasSandra Brooks; her great-grandchildren, Waddell Brooks III and Chassity Brooks; her sister, Irene Kelly; her brother, Willie Land; her goddaughter, Genola Gaddis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Canary Banks and extend our sincere condolences to her family and friends; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Canary Banks as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
